This month's focus is self care. I have a lot of clients who are coming to me for private sessions with chronic fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, and some who are battling a disease. Did you know that chronic exhaustion can weaken your immune system? Breathwork is a great way to release that stress, the anxiety, the exhaustion. And it's also a way to relax. I've had clients with insomnia say that after their breathwork session they were able to sleep all night and wake up feeling rested.
I also came across a great Ted Talk about the importance of taking care of your emotional health. That's an area many of us forget about. Society doesn't really give us permission to sit with our emotions. When we are feeling sad, angry, or lonely we are made to feel like we should quickly be "over it" and return to being happy or people tell us to "just think positively". As we all know from personal experience, our mind doesn't work that way. Breathwork allows us to work through those emotions, to let them expand, and to have a voice.
Make some time this month to take care of your self. Take a day trip. Clear your calendar for a day. And come breathe at one of my special events, which are listed below. This month’s evening breathwork class we will focus on self-care. So many of us forget or don’t make it a priority to take care of our needs, our emotional health, and our body. With all the stresses of the world, now more than ever, it is so important to make time for our self in order to stay happy and healthy.
