Its primary role is to process information, interpret it, and generate responses. These responses are designed to help you determine whether you are safe or in danger. Your nervous system, essentially, keeps you alive.

However, experiences of trauma, even seemingly minor ones, can leave imprints on your nervous system. When your nervous system becomes dysregulated, the balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems can be disrupted, leading to various challenges.

Dysregulation of your nervous system can manifest in numerous ways. On a physical level, it can result in digestive issues, disrupted sleep patterns, elevated heart rate, increased blood pressure, and weakened immunity. This can contribute to chronic pain and illnesses.

Emotionally and mentally, a dysregulated nervous system can cause mood swings, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, and an overactive "fight or flight" response. It can make it challenging to distinguish between real threats and perceived dangers created by your nervous system's hyperactivity.
