EP 52: Healing Paternal Wounds with Carina

EP 52: Healing Paternal Wounds with Carina

Hello and welcome back to Breathe More! Today, we have a very special guest, Carina, who has been a long-time client and also a healer I've had the pleasure of working with. Carina is here to discuss a profound topic: healing paternal wounds. She’s also hosting a workshop in my membership, The Collective, focusing on gaining clarity and healing around these wounds. This topic is essential because it often affects our present lives in ways we might not even realize.

In our daily lives, we often strive to be practical and present. Yet, sometimes the simplest tasks can feel overwhelmingly difficult, and our reactions to certain situations can be surprisingly intense. Carina's work, much like mine, helps individuals get to the core of these feelings. We explore questions like: Where does this come from? Is it an inherited trait or something passed down through generations? Recognizing and healing these wounds can be a beautiful gift not only for ourselves but also for our lineage and future generations.

Carina’s path to becoming a healer is both unique and inspiring. She shares, "I got here by allowing what was already within me to shine through. For someone who has been taught to put on a mask and cope with various cultural aspects, it was challenging to look within and let my true self emerge." This journey of self-discovery and honesty, aided by the support of others, has been crucial in her becoming a healer.

Ana and Carina dive into the topic of masks and conditioning. Ana points out that sometimes our identities are not truly ours but are coping mechanisms we’ve developed over time. This disconnection from our true selves can manifest as anxiety, depression, and other physical symptoms. Carina adds that the desire to connect with our authentic selves is often met with fear, largely due to inherited trauma and the effects of colonization.

Carina emphasizes the importance of ancestral healing. She shares, "When I opened the door to ancestral healing, I understood the importance of healing myself first. This process allowed me to uncover layers that were not mine and make choices that benefit my growth and those around me." This realization can be empowering, allowing individuals to break cycles of trauma and start anew.

Healing is a choice. Carina explains that recognizing and addressing these wounds can shift us from a place of feeling like a victim to one of empowerment. Ana echoes this sentiment, highlighting the importance of self-trust. "When you trust yourself, the fear of the unknown diminishes because you know what you are capable of," she says. This trust is crucial in taking the steps toward healing.

Carina points out that our intuition often guides us toward healing opportunities. "If you're already thinking about it, if this is on your radar, then give yourself the opportunity to follow that nudge," she advises. Trusting your intuition can lead you to the right guides and support systems needed for your healing journey.

One of the key aspects of Carina's upcoming workshop in The Collective is helping participants recognize paternal wounds. She suggests tuning into your body’s reactions when you think about your father or paternal lineage. Physical responses, such as a lump in your throat or a sudden intake of breath, can be indicators of unresolved issues. Join my membership, The Collective, to attend the workshop live on Monday, June 17, or get access to the replay.

Healing paternal wounds involves acknowledging and addressing both personal and ancestral trauma. It’s about making the choice to heal, trusting yourself, and following your intuition. Carina’s journey and insights offer a roadmap for anyone looking to embark on this path.

I hope this discussion with Carina inspires you to explore your own healing journey. Remember, the door to healing is open, and all you need to do is walk through it. Whether you join Carina’s workshop or start with small steps on your own, the choice to heal and grow is a powerful one.

Thank you for joining us today on Breathe More. If you feel called to explore this further, don't hesitate to reach out and take the first step toward your healing journey.
