It took me years to learn how important self-care is. It also has taken time for my body and mind to learn how to rest and feel safe in a relaxed state. And not have negative thoughts flood my mind when I’m taking time off. I used to feel like I was being lazy, I was afraid I would “fall behind,” and I would think it was too luxurious.
Since practicing self-care, it has helped me feel more grounded, supported, and energized.
